Baby Watch 2010...

Had my 38th week check-up yesterday. To all our surprise, Doc says I'm almost dialated to 4 cm!! Matt is ecstatic, he's banking on her being born on the 31st, so this fits perfectly for him. I, on the other hand, am a teeny bit less ecstatic. Naturally I want to have this little foo-foo here more than anyone. I can't wait to hold her, kiss her, smell her, stare at her....BUT I know what has to happen for her to get here. I know, I know, this is my second time doing this and I had a fairly easy, breezy delivery with Easton. There is still a level of anxiety...STOP! I can already hear you all saying, "YOU!!?? ANXIOUS!!?? WORRIED!!??" I can't help it, and it's not nice to pick on a pregnant gal. However, there is comfort in knowing I'm not the only one a little worried...Easton has some reservations as well. He is my son afterall :) ...
After returning from the doctor with the news that I could literally go into labor anytime now, I was telling Easton that his sister would be coming VERY soon. I could see the little wheels in his mind start going a mile a minute...
Easton: Slight pause..."Well, how is the "dotor" going to get her out?"
Me: (To myself) Crap. Think, think, think..."She is going to use special tools."
Easton: Another pause, wheels going full speed now..."Wellllllllll, I think I will come to the hospital after she comes out cuz I think the tools will scare me." Then he sweetly says, " And I think the baby will be crying and I don't like to hear her cry."

Camping out...

Easton had been begging to sleep in a tent in the backyard. So being the super cool parents that we are we got him a tent for his birthday and did just that. Wait, wait, wait...Ok that's kind of an overstatement. You see I'm pregnant, super pregnant, so I didn't camp out. I need a comfy bed and a bathroom nearby :) So really the super cool award goes to Matt. We had chicken nuggets for dinner (the birthday boy's request) and ate in the tent. Then I left the boys and went to frost all the cupcakes for the lil' man's party the next day. I could hear them giggling waaaay past bedtime but that's what camp outs with your Daddy are all about, right?! Surprisingly, they made it through the entire (chilly) night outside...Four-year-olds are pretty brave that way :)

8 Years...

Happy 8th Anniversary.
I love this Michael Buble song. I feel it's fitting in so many ways for where we are today... for reasons that only we'd understand. Thank you for all you're doing for our family, for making me laugh, for giving me a beautiful son and a daughter that I can't wait to meet (in 20 days or less!!!!) I love you.
xoxo
Didn't they always say we were the lucky ones.
I guess that we were once, babe, we were once,
but luck will leave you cause it is a faithless friend,
and in the end, when life has got you down,
you've got someone here that you can wrap your arms around.

So hold on to me tight,
hold on to me tonight.
We are stronger here together,
than we could ever be alone.
So hold on to me,
don't you ever let me go.

There's a thousand ways for things to fall apart,
but it's no one's fault, no it's no one's fault.
Maybe all the plans we made might not work out,
but I have no doubt, even though it's hard to see.
I've got faith in us, and I believe in you and me.

So hold on to me tight.
Hold on, I promise it will be alright.
Cuz it's you and me together,
and baby all we've got is time.
So hold on to me,
hold on to me tonight.

There's so many dreams that we have given up.
Take a look at all we've got,
and with this kind of love,
and what we've got here is enough.

So hold on to me tight.
Hold on, I promise it will be alright.
Cuz we are stronger here together,
than we could ever be alone.
Just hold on to me,
don't you ever let me go.
Hold on to me, it's gonna be alright.
Hold on to me tonight.

They always say, we were the lucky ones.

Already???...

On May 1st at 4:16am our baby boy turned 4! We are so lucky to have this lil man in our life. He's been the center of our universe for 1,461 days...He keeps us laughing, reminds us to be silly, teaches us PATIENCE, gives us the best kisses (have you seen those lips??!!)
and is pretty much the best part of everyday.
Easton, we love you to infinity and beyond!! Happy Birthday!!
xoxo
