Had my 38th week check-up yesterday. To all our surprise, Doc says I'm almost dialated to 4 cm!! Matt is ecstatic, he's banking on her being born on the 31st, so this fits perfectly for him. I, on the other hand, am a teeny bit less ecstatic. Naturally I want to have this little foo-foo here more than anyone. I can't wait to hold her, kiss her, smell her, stare at her....BUT I know what has to happen for her to get here. I know, I know, this is my second time doing this and I had a fairly easy, breezy delivery with Easton. There is still a level of anxiety...STOP! I can already hear you all saying, "YOU!!?? ANXIOUS!!?? WORRIED!!??" I can't help it, and it's not nice to pick on a pregnant gal. However, there is comfort in knowing I'm not the only one a little worried...Easton has some reservations as well. He is my son afterall :) ...
After returning from the doctor with the news that I could literally go into labor anytime now, I was telling Easton that his sister would be coming VERY soon. I could see the little wheels in his mind start going a mile a minute...
Easton: Slight pause..."Well, how is the "dotor" going to get her out?"
Me: (To myself) Crap. Think, think, think..."She is going to use special tools."
Easton: Another pause, wheels going full speed now..."Wellllllllll, I think I will come to the hospital after she comes out cuz I think the tools will scare me." Then he sweetly says, " And I think the baby will be crying and I don't like to hear her cry."
