Only three things!

I've learned my lesson...All my stressing about all the little details really doesn't matter in the eyes of a child. Case in point: To have a successful party for your toddler, you need only this (no more, no less)...1 Cars bounce house, 1 Cars pinata and a bunch of kids! Seriously, three things! Of course, I did not abide by this rule of three...but I've learned for the next child!
Easton had an awesome birthday party. All he cared about was the aforementioned bounce house and "pin-ya-ya." He really didn't even care about the presents (I'm telling you...only thing three things!!!) A happy child equals a happy mama!

More Knott's Pictures!

Yeah, aren't you excited! More pictures...I think I have over 90 pictures from the day but scaled it down to a few of my favorites.

3

I couldn't find the cord to my camera to download my pics, so these next couple blogs are a little behind but better late than never right....
Easton is officially 3! I can't even believe it! He keeps reminding me, "Mama, I'm a big kid now!" 3 has been a big deal in the Wagoner home. For me, I started thinking, "Holy cow! He's not a baby anymore (at least not by age)! Kindergarten is only 2 years away! Is that possible? (I've never been good at math.)" However, the bigger deal to Easton was, "Is it my turn yet?...My party's coming!...I'm gonna be 3!" He's been in birthday mode since his cousin Max's birthday party in December!! Needless to say, Matt & I really were feeling the pressure to make 3 great!
On his actual birthday we started the day with a gourmet breakfast at Denny's, where they sang him Happy Birthday...he's was both equally excited & embarassed, it was really cute, his little cheeks turned bright red! We then headed to "Barn's Berry" or Knott's Berry Farm for those of you who don't speak Easton. He talked the whole ride there about seeing Snoopy, Charlie Brown & the dirty one (Pigpen)...Luckily when we got there Snoopy & friends were waiting for us! Suddenly our chatty & friendly 3 year-old was not so eager to get too close to "Noopy." He was transfixed from a distance (as we knew he would be.) So, we headed over to the rides...every ride in Camp Snoopy...at least 3 times...not counting the 5 times on the little roller coaster (I was close to tears cuz I was laughing so hard at his screams of delight...Matt couldn't go on this ride, he was too big!...too tall, I mean...not too fat!) Next was the log ride. I never really noticed how dark that ride is until the three of us squeezed into a log and Easton nestled so tight into me that he probably woulda crawled into my shirt had I let him...he didn't cry, he said only once at barely a whisper, "I'm scared." Too late now, here comes the big drop! Naturally he loved it after it was over. It was a fun, fun, fun day! The 2 1/2 hour car ride home...not so much!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mamas in my life!!! I hope you all had a relaxing day...I did! I took a nap and didn't feel the tiniest bit guilty!
I received this e-mail today which I'm sure you've all read before but I really like it and thought it would be a fitting blog entry for today...

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom .
May you always be overwhelmed by the Grace of God rather than by the cares of life.

Garden Hose, Ladybugs & Underwear!

A couple of Mondays ago it was a hot day so I decided to let Easton play outside with the hose. Within in minutes of getting his boardshorts wet he wanted them off (wet clothes feel gross, can you blame him?). Next thing you know, this very white, tall, skinny child was "hopping like a kangaroo" in his Elmo "unna-wears" through the water. He then discovered the ladybugs fluttering through the grass & tried to catching them on his finger and then he would fling them off (his love can be fleeting!) He was a very happy, giggly, wet, droopy "unna-wears", ladybug catching, lathered in sunscreen little boy!

Picture Imperfect.

Today at Momspace we had a photographer gives us tips about how to take better pictures of our kids. She said don't always worry about getting the pictures perfect...which made me remember these pictures I took of East at the park. He was 18 months at the time & I loved that I captured his silly little self in these pictures that day. So cute & happy!

"Hi, Maaaaamaaaaa!!!!!"

Chicks dig my tractor!

As you probably know, there are many things about our house that I STRONGLY dislike. However, one thing I do love is that we have 2.5 acres of playground for Easton. He absoultely loves driving his tractor...he likes to smash the weeds, look for "nakes" (snakes) & lizards, check out the neighbor's horses and of course, he finds it beyond hilarious to chase us.

Family "Portraits"

I really don't want to brag...but Easton is quite a talented artist. For those of you who are not art-afficiandos, the first picture is a self-portrait. The second picture is of Matt & I...Matt is the long skinny one on the right & I am the lumpy one on the left (obvious isn't it?).

An Easton-ism...

I was cleaning out my car today and Easton was standing on the front seat with his shoes on...
Me: "Don't stand on the seat with your shoes on. Daddy will have a cow if he sees you."
He sits down...
Easton: "Oh! Daddy will have a cow and then it will sit on me."
