Blogger Challenge

This is a little blogger challenge (from Heather F -who I plan to beat in bunco next week...that's right...I said it!!)
Go to the 4th folder where you store your pictures, select the 4th picture & blog on it...
So, here's mine...
Easton: Only 7 days old. Sniff, Sniff...has the time really gone that fast?! Seven whole days old...He was absolutely without question the cutest (& easiest) baby. I remember staring at him in complete amazement that Matt & I had made such a perfect, beautiful little person. We were and are blessed beyond words that he's ours!
I'm sure our entire family will whole-heartedly agree! I remember our house was flooded each day with family & friends flocking to see him and he would sleep & sleep & sleep (7 day old babies tend to do that)...much to the disappointment of his adoring visitors. However, as soon as the house was quiet & empty (usually around 11pm...who knew grandparents stayed up that late...hahaha) Easton would wake up! It was almost as if he was feigning sleep and when everybody was gone he would carefully peek open one eye, check to make sure the coast was clear and he was up & at 'em! This was the best part of the day (night, really) because not only was he awake & happy but because we didn't have to share him! :)

A weekend with the Woods in the woods!

This weekend we went with the Wood family to their cabin in Big Bear. It was Easton's 1st trip to the snow...or the "no" as he calls it. It was a perfect weekend...cold enough that there was plenty of snow to play in but not so cold that we were frozen solid. I wasn't sure that he would like the snow considering he despises anything that makes his hands dirty, sticky, etc. But lo & behold he loved it...that is as long as it didn't make any actual contact with his bare skin! He (of course) got a kick out of throwing the snow (mostly at me...thanks to his Daddy). He had a blast playing with his buddy Ivy. They are at such a funny age & it's so nice that they play well together (minus the occasional whack to the head!) Their daddies have been friends for decades (dang, they're getting old!) so it's only fitting that the boys will be lifelong buds...(and then we can embarass them with pictures of them kissing as babies!)
Two cute boys...Easton & Ivy.
Taking it all in...
Using Mama as target practice.
I love you "snow" much!

Our new obession!

Nothing says, "Christmas Day" like rocking out to Metallica! And yet that's exactly what happened. My brother & Valerie treated everyone to "Rock Band." I've heard on several occasions from Val how addicting it was yet I didn't quite believe her...not cuz I think she would lie, but because I know how competitive my brother is & figured he roped her into it. After all it's a video game!! However I witnessed it's true hypnotic powers over my family firsthand! Even my dad, who is not much of a "gamer" got in on the action...both luckily & unluckily he's not the best singer, which made it equally hilarious & irritating!! Lacy, on the other hand is a much better singer (not really a compliment based on how bad my dad is!) My husband probably said three words to me the entire night because he was "in the zone" strumming on his "gee-tar." Valerie could give lessons to all those grungy drummers...you can rock out & still look cute! Easton, never one to be left out, got into it after watching his grandpa, aunites & uncle rock out...Which brings me to my brother...He's funnier than all the others combined!! He was rocking out (& sweating it out) like his life depened on it. We all know what a "good, deep voice" he has!! (Hahahahahahaha!) I'm so fortunate to be apart of such a "musical" family. After Ryan & Val packed up the band, my dad asked, "What time does Toys-R-Us open tomorrow??" I don't think he's bought it (yet) but my husband did..."Guitar Hero: World Tour." Which he made me try.....So, now I have a confession...I'm totally hooked too!! Rock On!! Lw
P.S. La Bamba is next to impossible to play!!

1st Trip to Disneyland

It's pouring rain, windier than...Chicago, and probably the coldest it's been in Southern California in at least 5 years (I might be slightly exaggerating...but it helps paint the picture, ok?!) Sounds like the perfect day to treat your child to their first Disneyland experience, right?!! Before we bought our insanely expensive tickets, I kept asking Matt, "Does this make us bad parents that we're subjecting our child to dang near arctic conditions?" ...So, I, the worrier of all things worrisome, told that crazy little voice inside my head to put a cork in it & away we went into the Happiest/Freakin' Coldest Place on Earth. Thankfully all the other worry wart parents decided to stay home & protect their children from pnemounia, so we never had to wait in line for a single ride. We rode everything that Easton's little 3 feet tall self could ride in no more than 4 hours. This was about the time we stopped for a snack & Easton said he wanted to go home. (Matt & I did the happy dance). I think he should consider a career as weatherman because on our trek back to the car the storm got REALLY ugly. We froze our fannies off, I had the worst case of hat head imaginable, and it took us over two hours to get home...but it was all worth it when Easton started signing,
"Yo Yo Yo Yo, a pirate's life for me." I like his verison better than the origingal! xo, Lw

Shrek Eye-Creaaam

This could quite possibly be my favorite pictures of Easton (At least in the top 5 for sure). It was taken this past summer right before his "Happy 2" when we were giving ourselves an Extreme Home Makeover. He was thoroughly enjoying his "Shrek Eye-Creaaam." Not sure if that's the correct spelling of his prounciation...think of Forrest Gump...he kinda has a slow southern drawl from time to time! I love his little language & I'm always a little sad each time he starts talking more like a big kid...Remember when he used to refer to himself only as "Easty" or when he called lotion "So-peen" -SOOOOOO FUNNY!...I think we all made him repeat that one no less than 10,000 times!! Even funnier was that he looked at us like we were the ones saying it wrong!! It so fun watching him grow & learn each day but also sad to see how fast it's happening! Oh dang! Now I'm crying.....errrrr, stupid blogs! xo, Lw

I'm Bloggin'!!

Matt's friend Woody has always said I need to start a blog called "The Chowda"...while I've opted for a different name I do think this sorta suits me...actually I'm semi-worried that I may become addicted to this!
